What is the Piano Lab?
Our summer piano performance lab is a small-group workshop located at our Monrovia studio where students build confidence, explore creativity, and grow as confident, creative pianists in a supportive, engaging environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform in a relaxed, supportive setting
- Explore improvisation and creative ideas
- Experiment with pop, jazz, and classical styles
- Connect and collaborate with fellow students
- Develop skills through encouraging feedback

Pre-teen Lab
Ages 8-12
Saturdays, 10-11am

Meet Your Instructor
Dr. Dhiren Panikker (he/him) is a Los Angeles-based pianist, educator, and scholar. As co-owner of Innovation Music Studio, Dhiren teaches lessons in piano, composition, and improvisation, with a particular focus on jazz and popular music. He holds a PhD in ethnomusicology from UC Riverside, MFA in Integrated Composition, Improvisation, and Technology from UC Irvine, and a BM in Jazz Studies and Commercial Music from CSU Fullerton…
